How are you doing so far?
Today I invite you to take an inventory of the music you listen to.
Music is a powerful, powerful influence over our minds, our emotions, our thoughts, feelings, and of course the actions we take as a result. So today, I want you to start tuning in and paying attention to the music you listen to in a new way.
Notice the lyrics a little more today. Pay deeper attention to the tone of the song, the singer’s voice, the instruments being used. Open your awareness to the overall vibes of the music you listen to today.
Are the lyrics more negative, hostile, angry, sad, depressing, or whiny? Do you feel any of those things, even if you can’t quite put your finger on why?
Are they more uplifting, hopeful, positive, loving, nurturing, peaceful, or calm? Do you generally just feel better while listening to them?
Create a “temperature scale” from – to +, with neutral somewhere in the middle. Mark how you feel while jamming out to each song. Especially with the music you love and listen to the most.
It is important to become aware of these factors that are affecting our mood, our mindset, and as a result the way we behave in the world. For our actions – including the words that we share – affect what the world reflects back to us.
Remember to keep journaling your gratitudes, your wish list, and your potential action steps to implement change.
Have a great day 8!
