Day 34. Technically, we can also call it Day 3 of our new challenge (or day 4, but I’m a fan of 0 days to start off a new cycle).
What have we done so far? A recap:
- Identified what we want to learn through this phase of the challenge, about ourselves in particular.
- Identified why we want to learn this thing.
- Expressed gratitude for the obstacle in our path – the not understanding, and different aspects that surround it.
So what do we do today?
Today…we can go one of two ways. I’ll give you a choice which one you want to do. The one you leave on the table will be tomorrow’s prompt. It feels a little bit like cheating to do it this way, but hey, it is what it is.
Option1:
- Get clear on what you think the answer will be to the question that you are asking.
- Write down all the possible reasons why you do/think/feel/experience this thing.
- Explain to yourself why it bothers you that you don’t understand it fully.
Option 2:
- Get clear on what life would be like if you did not have/do this thing.
- Answer the questions: “how would life be better if I didn’t [insert subject of your journaling focus]?” “What would I do instead?”
- Ask and answer “what function does this serve in my life today? does it have a purpose, or is it random?”
So go ahead, pick your focus. Option 1 or Option 2. There is no wrong answer to any of the questions. My suggestion: write down every random thought that comes to mind. Let those different parts of you that want to weigh in have a voice. Let them speak through your thoughts and anchor their voices on paper.
Sound good?
Great!
See you tomorrow π
