Day 33

Me as a toddler, sledding

Today’s journaling prompt is simple: express gratitude.

Express gratitude for the aspect of yourself that you are trying to solve. Express gratitude for the lack of clarity, for your curiosity, for your desire to understand.

I will share some examples:

What it was like being an 80’s baby 😃
  • I am grateful that I get frustrated about (the thing you are frustrated by).
  • I am grateful that it bothers me.
  • I am grateful that I want to stop being upset by it.

I am grateful :

  • that I am ready to understand why it bothers me.
  • that it is possible to understand why it bothers me.
  • for all the aspects of myself and my guardian team (or team of guides, whatever you call the entities that help you navigate this world, ancestors, etc.) that are protecting me through this process.
  • for the parts of myself that are trying to keep me safe.
  • for all the aspects of myself that are communicating with me through this journaling process.
  • for the aspects of myself speaking up saying “this is something we want to heal!”

It’s okay if you don’t believe that there are different parts of you participating in this process, or if you don’t believe you have a team guiding you in this life. You don’t have to. You can express gratitude for other things, like:

  • the fact that you care enough to try this process even if you don’t know what will come of it.
  • the fact that you have a journal, paper bound in a book and a pencil and/or a pen.
  • your willingness to commit to the next 29 days (including today) to complete this process, 1 day at a time.
  • your openness to expressing everything to yourself that comes to mind.

How’s that?

Anything else to add?

Great! Let’s get started. Time to #meetyourselfonpaper 🤗
