There is nothing more important than knowing who you are in this world.
The best version of life here on Earth is one where each and every one of us is the best at being ourselves, and knowing our reason, purpose, and place for carrying out our mission as an expression of who we are here.
But I also want to spend the next 30 days focusing on all of the habits, “mistakes”, choices, desires, interests, fascinations that appear to get in the way of anything meaningful, purposeful, valuable.
We often conflate mission with income. A way to earn a living. A way to “make money”. We often put this all-important golden dollar on a pedastal as The Thing that makes life worth anything at all. Everything else about who we are gets pushed aside in the modern world if it doesn’t fit the funnel of where you can earn the most money.
Long story short – we have made Money our God in the world.
And this is Universal. East, West. The Yen is just as important to people in Japan as the Dollar is in the United States of America. It used to be rice, wheat, crops. We used to be able to GROW our money.
Now, someone prints it for us.
And we put that printed piece of paper up on a pedastal and bow down to it. We say “How can I bring more of you into my life, so I may “win”? Who should I become in order to be worthy of you?”
The dollar in the USA even says “In God We Trust” on it.
How many people who earn a lot of money are doing it with God in mind?
How many people who earn a lot of money are doing with themselves in mind as God?
Money stresses everybody out. Or should I say, our attachment to money stresses us out.
Why is that?
Is it brain washing? Is it conditioning? Is it programming? Is it a psy-op (psychological operation) performed by secret government agencies?
Or is it because we’ve outsourced every decision we make and deferred to a question that only the person handing out the most money can answer?
Why am I talking about this so much, on a day when I said we would work on relaxing?
Because, this is an important baseline to establish.
I want us all to be aware that your whole life’s focus has been funneled on “who do I have to become in order to earn the most money?” Or at the very least “what do I have to do in order to earn a good living?”
Some people end up in prison because of this. They go the route of the gangster. They realize that selling drugs on the street comes easily to them. It’s exciting. And, they earn more money selling dope than flipping burgers. They can handle the risk of working with shady drug dealers with guns more than the possibility of cutting of their finger slicing deli meat in order to earn minimum wage.
The human solution to this has been to remove cash flow from society. Make everything digital, so nothing is on paper anymore. Personally, I think that puts every human who makes money all-important in their lives at risk. All it takes to lose access to your digital currency is one internet outage.
You thought the stock market crash in 2008 was bad? People were committing suicide and jumping out of windows at work because they lost their entire lifes savings? What about…well. You get the picture.
I want us to start these next 31 days off with the understanding that Money is not the God you have been taught that it is.
Money is a terrible mission to serve.
It is scary to even type that. It is scary to even think about living a life that is not lived for money. Immediately, survival and fear come into action. “How will I pay rent, if I don’t live for money? How will I pay for food? I can’t even afford a mortgage today, but how will I afford a house in the future if I don’t…”
And then we spiral into “how will I ever earn enough money to live the life I was supposed to live? The one my parents told me I am worthy of? The good life? The best life imaginable, without money?”
So here’s my point. I am not talking about envisioning a life WITHOUT money. That would be awful. That would be no different than what every other spiritual guru used to tell us prior to 2026. A life without money looks like living under a bridge in any major city in America. It looks like rundown apartments with no landlord in sight. It looks like spending hours of your day taking the bus or train to work, only to show up late and get fired because you’re not on time. It’s fighting not to get attacked or assaulted or just somehow disrespected by a homeless person who has nothing left to lose and would be better off in a mental institution or prison, and might choose you as the person they need to demonstrate their worthiness of being arrested.
Money buys you nice cars. Nice houses without needing a loan. It buys you safety from the streets of a city where people stopped caring about each other and decided to only fend for themselves long ago. Money buys a lot of great things.
My point here is that making Money your God is a surefire way to do two things:
- Not earn a lot of it, and
- Not enjoy the money that you do earn as much as is possible to enjoy it.
So for these next 31 days (including today), we are going to focus on all of those qualities that didn’t make it into the funnel.
Don’t worry, you’re not going to lose your good paying job by accepting the reality that there is more to life than money. You won’t lose your humanity by accepting the reality that money is a great tool to have in your possession at all times.
We are going to work to find the middle pillar so that you can enjoy money and your life both to the fullest.
At least to the extent that is possible through journaling. And along the way of course I will provide reminders that the Path of Initiation in the Modern Mystery School will help anchor and ground all of these realizations in a much deeper way within your core being.
That is where all of my wisdom, learning, and experience from this journaling process comes from, combined with my own lived understandings of what I’ve been taught and the healings I have received.
The healings that cut ties with old Gods who no longer serve us directly.
To be clear, I love money. I love what money can do in my life. I love the life I can create with money.
I also don’t like how humans lose perspective on what matters. I don’t like the inverse results that when you forget who you are, or you forsake yourself, your loved ones, or strangers in order to turn a quick dollar, the more money you earn the less life becomes worth living.
I don’t like that you can live in a penthouse and feel completely and utterly empty. A shell of a human being, just as cold and steely as the home you worked so hard to afford.
If that’s the life you want to live, cold, empty, but a bank account full of 0’s, then this journaling prompt won’t help you.
If you want to live the life of a person who values helping others over earning a quick buck, I don’t think this journaling process will help you either.
The purpose of this process will be to help you identify, if it is even possible in 31 days to do this, the value of being yourself ENTIRELY while also appreciating the value of every penny that is available to you as a result of your expression of who you truly are.
So, first we are going to start with the funnel.
I mentioned earlier that your entire life has been spent honing your focus on the path that will lead you to earn the most money.

Of course, as we grow we all need some pruning in our actions, words, and behaviors. Our thought patterns need to be guided as we grow and mature.
But if Money is your Main motivator, it deforms your growth in a way.
Why is that?
It comes down to one simple reality. Nearly every person who teaches you to focus on money as your main motivator, or secondary to starting a family but foundational for your success as a man or a woman, teaches you to look for the job that will earn you the most money.
That means that the target for success keeps changing year after year.
You have to keep tailoring your skills, your personality, your resume, your SELF essentially, to the person who not only has the most money but the one who is willing to give the most out in exchange for your presence.
You are taught from a young age to sell yourself to the highest bidder. The one who won’t abuse you too much, but for the right price you’ll accept the abuse they dish out.
We aren’t exactly out here choosing from the best employers to work for. We’re looking for the one that abuses us the least. The one that offers a paycheck we can survive off of, and enough time that we don’t watch our lives slip through our fingers while we stare out the window wishing for more money, more time, and a deeper desire to live life to the fullest.
And no matter how hard you work, no matter how much time you put in, how much effort, how much of yourself you sacrifice, the target is always moving.
One year, finance is the place to earn money. 10 years later, it’s law. Then it’s the restaurant industry. Then the restaurant industry is down because no one is going out to eat and it’s the delivery business that’s booming. Movies used to to be a place to make good money. You know, movie theaters are only business I’ve seen in my lifetime where demand goes down and yet the cost of admission still rises to compensate for the loss of demand.
Do you see what I’m starting to get at here?
Do you know who gets hurt by this the most?
The children. The ones who are being groomed in public schools to think this way about themselves and money. The ones who spend 10 years focused on getting a good job, only to finally graduate and be told “We didn’t wait for you to be ready. We replaced you before you were even finished with school.”
Doctors are known to make good money today, but has anyone who ever became a doctor shadowed the kind of doctor they wanted to become long enough to see what it does to them mentally? Emotionally? What kind of lives they lead to see if the whole picture is worth it them BEFORE making that kind of commitment? That decision, the sacrifices that are necessary in order to succeed and become worthy of the highest paying profession they can dream of?
Same with lawyers, engineers…
I want us to reorient ourselves to the concept that yes, money is EXTREMELY valuable. It is the almighty dollar or yen that keeps us off the street.
But there is something even more valuable than money. People who don’t have money learn to value it more because they have fewer opportunities to distract themselves from the reality of it. People who do have a lot of money also learn to value it because they come to realize that the money they were after didn’t bring them everything they ever wanted.
The people who are lost in the sauce are the ones who are still hustling in order to achieve their dreams. They don’t know if they’re distracted or living life to the fullest. Why is that?
Because they don’t have a North Star to orient themselves towards that isn’t tied to their income. Yet.
But you’re here. Which means you’re likely searching for something like this. Or you will be tomorrow.
Now that we’ve made it this far, I want us to consider one thing today:
What are the qualities that made it into the funnel – the ones that you believe serve your purpose in order to succeed in this world?
What are the qualities that didn’t? And which ones have no place in your path of maturity, growth, the road to wisdom? But which ones might have a place in a life where Joy is the North Star and an abundant income is a byproduct of that alignment?
It might help to make another diagram, similar to the one I shared before, but with a few tweaks.

To the left is you as a newborn infant. Every potential, possibility, and quality imaginable that has been available to you since birth lives on the open side of the funnel, right? That only makes sense.
What made it into the funnel is every aspect of yourself that you held onto in order to be “successful”. What did your parents approve of, your teachers, your family, your friends? If you’re out of high school by now, what did your coworkers, your bosses, your mentors instill in you that were of any importance and helped shape you in your career or professional growth? That all made it into the funnel. That’s an idea of who you’ve chosen to become, in the middle.
Try listing 5-7 qualities that fit in the middle of the funnel right now.
And then, once you’ve done that or as you’re doing it, look at the top and the bottom of the funnel.
Above the funnel, I want you to list 3-10 qualities that you’ve abandoned over the years in order to fit into this narrow pathway of “monetary success” or “success” in general, if you gave up on building wealth in order to pursue a dream like acting or something that has a different sort of payout for you.
I want to make one thing clear here. In 2026, there is this dangerous misconception that the idea of being a “traditional wife” isn’t about money. It definitely is. No one wants to be a “trad wife” to a man who isn’t going to pay all the bills and keep his wife happy. So, if that’s the goal you’re aiming at, you can still do this exercise.
What qualities have you abandoned that you didn’t think would help you reach your goals of success, whether that’s you working inside the home or outside of it, that would actually serve you in having more peace, joy, love, or feelings of inner accomplishment?
These could be hobbies you once enjoyed when you played as a kid, but they were discouraged as a waste of time and things that were blocking your ability to succeed. For many of us they’re artistic pursuits that don’t earn any money whatsoever, we just do them because they make life worth living. We enjoy them.
You are allowed to enjoy things. So write the things that you enjoy doing, or once did but today you see your enjoyment of them as a burden, above the funnel. You can also include personality traits about yourself that you really enjoy but that you feel you have to hide in order to be successful.
There is no greater value in the world than becoming the kind of person who can walk into every room that society has to offer and not change yourself to fit it. That is when you know that you are living your best life, you are aligned with your Higher Self.
Your customer service voice isn’t a mask that you wear to cover up the ghetto in you when you have to.
You also don’t expect every room that you enter to lower their standards so you can feel comfortable to be your worst self either.
But what I’m trying to get at is that sometimes what you think of as “your worst self” isn’t that bad either.
Sometimes, that which you think of as “your best self” is worse than your worst self.
Is it all a matter of perspective? Does it all depend on how the people in each room will perceive you?
Or is there something MORE IMPORTANT than public opinion, which we’ve already established isn’t reliable. It’s ever changing. The people who accept you today could reject you tomorrow for doing the very things they expected you to do.
Would you rather be subjected to that, or proud of who you are regardless of who rejects you? Without being obnoxious about your sense of pride and having to cram it down everyone’s throat in order for it to mean something?
So underneath the funnel, I want you to be thoughtful about this. I want you to consider every bad habit, every poor quality and trait that you’ve had to sacrifice in order to rise as a person.
Attitude adjustments, disrespectful ways that you’ve treated authority in the past, lack of gratitude, not being punctual. Give yourself credit for the changes you’ve made to improve who you are as a person. Breaking addictions, giving up relationships that were hurting you more than helping you or bringing out the worst in you. 3-10 qualities and/or connections that you’ve had to sacrifice and work hard to let go of that you believe served you EVEN if the mission that you’re aiming at doesn’t turn out to be the highest target you can point your arrow.
Even if you aim higher in life tomorrow, what are the hurdles that you are grateful to yourself for getting over? The hurdles that were caused entirely by what you were doing, and that caused you to change in order to avoid ruin if you held onto them? Prison, not being able to hold a job, spending your entire life hated by anyone with any authority. Where have you had to face the reality that the entirety of who you are isn’t accepted nor should it have to be? It’s actually better for everyone if you’re not fully yourself all the time.
Not everyone can accept that. If they could, we wouldn’t have sex crimes. So, give yourself credit for cleaning up your act before you took your desire to be accepted for all of your worst traits too far.
The reason this process is 31 days on relaxed mode is because I want us to relieve the pressure. Money is a terrible God. It is a terrible thing to become a servant or slave for.
You cannot protect anyone when you yourself are controlled by the almighty Dollar (or Yen, or whatever currency rules your part of the world).
Look around the world long enough and you will realize that’s true. Of course you might say “one bad apple spoils the bunch”. How do you think those apples became rotten in the first place?
They lost their way? Or their compass was broken from the beginning? Maybe it was both? Maybe something else entirely?
Are you willing and ready to enter any professional field where corruption runs rampant because the paychecks aren’t high enough if you just accept them outright? Professions where people risk their lives, their livelihoods, or put other’s lives in jeopardy in order to make a little extra on the side? Even if it doesn’t feel like a risk in the beginning?
Is there a single profession where this doesn’t happen today? Can you think of one?
We already did our “purpose” journaling prompts. We are not going to force that this month. I want you to think about all the things that you like about yourself today. That’s it. If you start to create a list of the qualities you have held onto that don’t make you feel good about yourself, you can separate that funnel into two sections.
You don’t have to do this. But if it helps you in the way that your brain works, put the qualities you’re glad you have held onto at the top (inside the funnel), and the ones you really don’t like about yourself today at the bottom (inside the funnel).
It will look something like this:

Of course, this then leaves the question of “what about all of the qualities that I do or don’t like about myself that WON’T help me be successful?”
If that came to mind for you, or if you care about capturing them, I will let you decide what to do with them.
The funnel is just a suggested graphic. If you want to organize this information a different way, be my guest. This is your process.
I hope, if you’ve been with me since the beginning, you can see that I am setting up the foundation for something successful. So just make sure that you are keeping with the structure of what I am guiding you through. That way you will have the information available to you throughout this process 🙂
If you need a recap of the categories we are journaling about today, without the visual, I will provide it here. If you don’t, you are free to go and I will see you tomorrow (hopefully!)
❤
Recap of the categories:
Who You Are In Your Entirety – whatever comes to mind, no specific form or prompting for this piece, just a reminder that you are more than can be categorized.
What You Are Aiming For as a Definition of Success – again, no specific prompting for this piece. No real need to journal anything, just keep it as an awareness and guidepost for the rest of the prompt. If you want to write anything here, feel free, but you don’t have to.
The Qualities You’ve Chosen To Keep and/or Cultivate in Order To Be Successful – pretty straightforward journaling prompt. You can also separate it into two further categories if you feel so inspired:
a. The qualities you’ve kept that you like about yourself and actually add meaning and/or enjoyment to your existence
b. The qualities you’ve cultivated that bring you less enjoyment in life.
The Qualities and Habits You’ve Abandoned In Order to Become Successful – again, pretty straight forward and explained clearly enough that I won’t insult your intelligence with another run through. You can also break this down into two further categories if it so inspires you:
a. The qualities and relationships you’ve let go of that you feel might actually serve you in life if you held onto them.
b. The qualities and relationships you’ve overcome that you believe your life is better because you didn’t hold onto them.
Is that clear enough now? I hope so. Please read through the prompt again if it still isn’t clicking, and see if it makes sense the second time through.
If it still doesn’t, but you’re committed to understanding. Stop reading. Stop trying to make it make sense and just do what you’re feeling inspired to write instead. Trust yourself. Trust the process. Trust the energy at work within you through these next 30 days and beyond.
❤ 🙂 See you tomorrow!
