So….today’s prompt is going to be interesting.
You see, we have all been trained to operate within a structure that limits our ability to dream.
If you are in the US, the UK, Japan, or anywhere else in the world with a formal education structure, it’s especially difficult. Even if you spent every school day in a classroom with posters that said “Dream Big” or “Walk confidently in the direction of your dreams” plastered on the walls, that doesn’t mean anyone really taught you what was possible.
We often hear stories of people who achieved their dreams by shirking the system. Einstein, the world-renowned genius, almost failed out of school. It wasn’t until his wife created a system that helped him succeed that he was able to start showing what he was truly capable of.
But teachers don’t really like it when those stories inspire people to think outside the parameters of “normal”. So, for those of us who are trying our darndest to figure out “what in the world can I do that will bring me the greatest sense of fulfillment AND the most money in the world?” “How can I be the next Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos, doing everything above board and successfully beyond my wildest imaginings?”
What problem do you want to solve for other people?
What do you think you need to rely on for support in order to do that? Where do you imagine you’ll hit constraints?
Sometimes structures can provide us a way to move onward and upward. Other times they can restrict us incessantly, and prohibit us from moving in the direction we need to travel next. Sometimes, we have to move beyond the bounds and confines of the system in which we hope to master.
If you could do anything you want in the world, and there were multiple ways to achieve that goal, where would you have questions about how to bridge the gap between where you are today and where you are going?
Those are the holes in the system you’re in today.
Need some examples? Try to figure this out without them. If I remember tomorrow, I will include some in Day 99.
I don’t think I’ll be making a big deal when we hit Day 100 of this series. We aren’t in school. This is a 365 day process, not a 180 day one. It is pretty cool though, isn’t it? We are almost into the triple digits :).
Great job! Keep going.
