Day 97

It’s time. Time to start pondering the question: what is my purpose? What is my mission in life?

Here’s the thing about your purpose, or your mission, that maybe not everyone wants you to realize.

No one else can tell you what your purpose or mission is. It’s going to be annoying if I keep using these words together like this, so I am just going to pick one. I am going to use the word “mission”. You can read it as “purpose” if that is what you prefer to call it.

No one else can tell you for certain what your mission is on this Earth, or any other planet, in this life or any other one (if you believe in reincarnation, that is).

No one can tell you what your mission is, nor can they tell you when you’ve achieved it. That is between you and God. So, how do you know what your mission is for certain?

Well…the only real way is to make a decision. What do you want your mission in life to be?

That is a pretty broad question, and one that many people don’t have the answer to yet.

It’s hard to come up with one right off the bat.

We’ve all been taught the “right” answers. Something good. Something humane. Something that makes us sound like we care about other people, and that we’d sacrifice our own wellbeing for someone else to have a better existence.

But what if that’s not actually helpful?

What if your life purpose could be anything? What if it could even be something totally selfish and self-centered? Can you wrap your mind around that?

Or does that feel like a sticking point, a huge no-go?

What are your rules around what your purpose in life can be or not be? Do you have any that you are aware of?

That’s where we will start today.

What limitations do you have around purpose? What does your foundation, structure, and support around crafting your mission in life look like?

Tomorrow, we’ll tease it apart a little bit, to see if maybe there isn’t some room for expansion and improvement that could allow you to dream a bit clearer.
