The Path of Progression is the Way

One of the interesting things about the Path of Progression in the Modern Mystery School International is the desire that so many of us have to jump ahead to “the end”.

I can only speak on my own experience here, but what I can say is that I do see this in others as well.

I often wonder “when am I going to be recognized so that I can move onto the – we can call them ‘higher levels’, but what are they higher levels of? service? achievement? recognition in and of themselves? getting to stand on stage? order? wealth? success? authority?”

I keep thinking it is good to subvert the path. I find myself saying in my mind “oh, I don’t have to Life Activate people in order to serve, I can serve without Life Activation.”

No…the path is the way. I know this is hard to accept. The path is the way.

I keep thinking “if I just put on my best behavior and be a good person, I don’t have to initiate people onto the path. I can become an international instructor just based on what I know.”

I know nothing. I don’t know anything at all lol.

That’s not how it works when you are walking along a trail. You can’t just skip ahead. You go, step by step. Maybe you walk, maybe you run, maybe you literally skip forward. But you don’t skip a step. This is hard to accept. I don’t know why it is, but it is.

Maybe if you’re hiking a path you wander off trail. You go explore the woods around you for a while. Come back, covered in a bunch of bugs and ticks and mud, worms and sticks in your hair. But if you want to reach your destination, you keep walking the trail.

Everyone’s experience on the path is different. I believe the gratitude/no complaining challenge we just completed can be clear proof of that.

We all experience our lives differently from one another. Even if we are just comparing the outside perspective looking in to the one who is living it.

The path is the way. Life Activation, Initiation, Teaching the classes and Performing the Healing Modalities as they are handed down to us in training is how the Teachers we so admire became the people they are today.

This is why I have part of my business plan to become accepted on a legal level as something more than just “spiritual healing” or “meditation”. I don’t know how yet, and I don’t know what I am aiming for, but we are a cut above the rest. If I have to buy my own servers and maintain them in order to protect the privacy of my clientelle, and to comply with HIPAA even when it is not being enforced, I will plan for that.

We deserve to be recognized and taken as seriously as medical healthcare, as mental healthcare, and as behavioral healthcare, even if the process isn’t fully understood today. I cannot control the outcomes people have from working with me, but at the very least I can do everything within my power to take myself and my clients’ progression seriously. To be compliant with the law and help shape the new standard for spiritual health and wellbeing. To be transparent with authorities without putting the people who trust me on display for all to see.

Walking the path is a privilege we get to enjoy as initiates in the Lineage of King Salomon. The pace at which you walk is up to you. Some of us move swiftly and we figure things out as we go along. Others like to plan methodically and then figure things out when the plan goes awry. Ultimately though, the path is the way.

You can view service as a pyramid scheme if you want to. I’ve worked in a pyramid scheme before, and honestly as a person who has a well-developed business acumen they aren’t really terrible strctures. They might be run by people who don’t care about you at all as a person, and who only see you as a means to an end, but the structure in and of itself is actually pretty empowering. Like an apprenticeship. You earn your growth.

“Pyramid Schemes” are typically built by people who use their experience and passion to help people grow who are new to the industry. They take those who are looking to try something new and teach them what they know. Now if the people running the pyramid scheme lie to you every step of the way to get you to work for them – that’s a pretty big indicator that they don’t respect you right out of the gate. They know that. It is time you start noticing that too.

If there is pressure to join a business structure of any kind, it can have one of two sources. 1) You feel pressure internally because you enjoy the product or service you are buying, and you see the potential for it’s value in your ability to sell. or 2) Someone else views you as a way to earn a living. Is the second one inherently the structure’s fault? Or is it an expression of that person’s vantage point in sales? How do you discern the difference?

I’ve met pushy sales people in spirituality before. Abusive, rude, in a rush, they pressure you to work with them without giving you any time to think. They use those greasy sales tactics like burying the bottom line in fine print. They run on pure adrenaline, emotion, and probably cocaine to get you so excited that you sign on the dotted line without a second to breathe. They lie about their sales deadlines, and then you show up the next day thinking “I thought that sale ended yesterday, but here it is again today.”

Good sales people never sell you anything. All they do is provide you information and give you space to decide. You’re always deciding, even when you feel pressured into something. How about you consider working with someone who can teach you how to take back the space to make decisions on your own time?
