The greatest teachers in the world are not trying to strip you of your power. They’re not trying to limit you. They’re not trying to make you weak.
In fact, they’re trying to teach their students how to handle MORE power responsibly. With discipline, limitations, and regulations comes great clarity.
Martial arts instructors, for example, want their students to be able to handle many situations with ease. The kind of power that comes with martial arts training is that you can kill people if need be.
They’re not teaching their students that killing someone is an easy thing. Good martial arts teachers instill this humility in their students that you would only use this power defensively, if you ever encounter a situation where it’s your life (or someone else’s) or the attackers. Otherwise, you’re going to address the situation at the level appropriate for the threat.
It’s the same with teaching people how to wield firearms.
If you teach them that guns are bad, and that they should NEVER use them, you’re stripping them of their power. Especially children in the inner city and places where gun violence is prevalent.
If you brainwash them into fearing firearms instead of teaching them how to wield them responsibly, and stressing the effects of using them without discipline, you are doing them a huge disservice. You could actually be responsible for getting them killed because you decided to arm them with roses in a battlefield instead of a weapon.
The more you strip good people of their “right to bear arms” or their ability to defend themselves against someone who wants to kill them, the weaker you make them.
At the Modern Mystery School, our Teachers teach us that good people deserve to carry more power. We are the ones who will use it responsibly. If we’re not developing great power in order to wield it, who is?
Criminals. Those who run the streets.
Laws govern, but they only matter to those who respect them. They only restrict those who try to do the right thing. Criminals look for loopholes that they think allow them to evade the laws. Good people who can’t defend themselves can’t really do much good.
Why let yourself be restricted by something if that restriction makes you weaker than the people who make the world a worse place for everyone except their own people?
Empowerment is what makes life worth living. The God-given right to walk the streets safely doesn’t just come from wearing the right colors or symbols. Even the cross won’t protect you in certain neighborhoods these days.
So why would you rather rely on crystals, necklaces, and durags when you can rely on yourself, maybe a weapon if necessary, and the power you carry within?
