Day 118

The quality of the people you invest in is more valuable than their greatest ideas.

What are you doing to become the best version of yourself you can possibly become?

Being great at your job is ONE thing. It is not EVERYTHING.

Committing yourself to being the best in your field can only help you so much. It can only shape you to be the best at that ONE thing. Sure, you may develop skills that transfer over to other areas of life and make you useful.

If you work long enough in any office environment, you might become good at taking notes, organizing files, taking phone calls and leaving messages, creating spreadsheets, putting together decks and presenting them in front of a board of people, scheduling and facilitating meetings. Even if those are not the heart of what you are achieving, they are the day-to-day requirements in order to make sure you can get your real job done. If you are so inclined to master the mundane aspects of your career, you will be the cream that rises to the top eventually.

Those who think the day-to-day tasks are beneath them and complain in an entry-level position that they don’t have a secretary to do these things for them, they don’t get very far unless they learn the art of keeping their mouth closed and doing what must be done. Or better yet, following direction the first time with a smile and an attitude of gratitude that they even have a job to begin with.

This is the world everyone is growing up in, but there seems to be this collective idea that Gen Z needs to be shielded from it?

What they need to be shielded from is the unstable emotionality of Millenials, Gen X, and Boomers. Gen Z are weak because they are being raised by people who are pitying themselves for having to be here in the first place. That self-pity comes with all kinds of emotional baggage that leaks into every arena where we deal with other people. One way it comes across is in how we manage people. How we teach, how we lead. It’s all just kind of…pathetic.

As a student looking for direction, let me ask you one thing.

Do you prefer it when adults give you clear guidance and direction or when they color every single thing they say to you with emotion and how they feel about the assignment at hand?

Nobody cares so much about you that they want to hear how you feel about every single thing you have to tell them. If you have a direction to give, give the direction.

In 2026, we have lost the art of being inspirational. Impressive. We have really let social media convince us that trauma dumping is a good way to connect when really – it’s a humilitation ritual. You’re putting your history on full display for somoene who didn’t ask.

If you’re talking to a therapist, that’s fine. Or someone you’re seeking for professional advice and guidance, okay. But friends, random strangers you just met, PEOPLE YOU MIGHT WANT TO MARRY SOMEDAY?? STOP TRAUMA DUMPING! Oh My God people. Stop. No wonder the birth rate is so low. You’re treating your potential partners like therapists before your first date and then going “the apps suck.”

The apps are fine. Men and Women who are actively trying to master The Art of Being Impressive and Attractive aren’t having any trouble dating. If they are having trouble, they’re also willing to overcome them and get better because they’ve encountered those troubles to begin with. They’re actually trying.

You’re probably not trying hard enough.

“But it’s supposed to be easy!” I can hear some people whine. It’s not, though. Just because you can imagine a story of two people who matched on their first try and fell in love. There’s nothing glorious about that situation. That’s the exception, and it’s obviously not the rule that you’re meant to respect.

So if you don’t want to be stuck marrying the first person you match with on a dating app, if you would like A LITTLE MORE FREEDOM AND POWER THAN THAT IN THIS LIFETIME, learn to actually date effectively.

This is a huge sticking point for me because I like to date. And guys today are making it really boring. In 2026. By being in relationships with their mothers instead. A lotta mommas boys out here today. You all need Jesus and therapy.

You know, a lot of people…hold on.

I have had a few thoughts lately and I would like to just put them out there because this is the place where I can do that. If you’d like to cancel me over it, be my guest. If I get any bigger than this I’ll probably want to be cancelled anyway.

Incest porn isn’t made for the children. Has anyone realized that yet? It’s made for the parents…

And Freud tried to claim that little boys love their mothers and girls love their fathers in a sexual way. Did anyone ever question if maybe he was studying children that were being sexually abused by parents or other adults who knew how to hide that kind of thing? Or were the children thoroughly examined every time they went for a session? If they were, that would also prove my point one way or another.

We have a spotlight culturally on Muslims and Jews for raping children and enslaving them sexually. We also know this happensin the Catholic church, Christian churhces, it’s happening in daycares and schools all over the world most likely because that’s where children spend most of their time these days.

Hollywood has a huge reputation for using children in witchcraft. Whether or not that’s a real thing that’s happening or it is a conspiracy theory – as a country we have expressed public outrage over the fact that these things are happening to innocent children every single day and yet, that’s all it is. Public outrage. And a way for people who capitalize on that emotion to bring in money.

Every social media ad I see for someone who wants to fight sex trafficking, they ONLY OFFER ONE THING – a way to pay them to do it.

I have never, in all of my years of researching this, come upon ANYONE who is teaching ANYONE to do ANYTHING about child sex trafficking. But they’re all asking for money in order to ‘end it’. Ashton Kutcher went in front of a judge and TALKED about it.

They don’t want sex trafficking to end, whether it is of children or adults. For a lot of reasons, but the main one being because then the money would end too. The economics on sex trafficking – if you don’t have a sense of humanity as an economist, you would say it’s a stupid thing for a culture to do. To end anything that generates the kind of revenue that selling a human body can generate.

Sex trafficking itself as a way to bring money in from a social cause, it comes with an easy button to press in order to generate revenue. “Sex trafficking!” “Money please”. It’s easy. Until a new social issue pops up, in which case who cares about sex trafficking? That will be the new way that people who are doing this now can aim their charities and organizations, which have 0 benchmarks for actual success but every opportunity to sell people the feeling that they’re doing something important for humanity.

That was the thing that bothered me the most when I was asked to contribue to an organization that is “fighting” sex trafficking. Their WHOLE POINT was “there’s no solution”. Ok…so what am I giving money to exactly? “There’s no solution.” “We don’t know how to identify sex traffickers, they look just like you and me.” “We can provide talking points, really vague signs to look for, a phone number you can find for free if you Google it.” Pretty soon they’ll just start hiding the resources you can use to report sex trafficking behind a paywall. Once the money runs out from people when they stop caring about the issue, or they realize there’s no effort being put into solving the problem so it’s not worth investing in the proposed “solutions”, they’ll have to move onto a new phase.

And we really fall for it. A lot. To be fair, I also almost fell for the scam where someone calls you pretending to be from the IRS and they say they need an iTunes gift card worth thousands of dollars. Humans are stupid. We don’t have to be, but we are. That’s why we always need to be learning, we should always be studying with people who are more brilliant and wise than we are but who are also kind to us too.

Side note: Is Apple the one running that IRS scam? Who can use iTunes gift cards for anything worth any money? Are people really spending that much money on iTunes somewhere?

Don’t just pour money into things. Don’t just give money to someone who has a great idea. The thing that sparked this whole post today was I saw a reel where Gary Vee was telling a fan that he passed on Uber twice. He could have made $50,000,000. I don’t think he’s lying. But it did immediately make me reflect on the nature of doing business with Uber.

Reflecting on the nature of doing business with Uber as a driver really made me question – did Gary pass on Uber because it was a bad idea or because the people behind it weren’t worth investing in?

I wouldn’t invest in Uber the way that it is today. Even if it did bring in a lot of money. If I could invest enough to influence decisions one day, now that’s a different story. Are you investing in order to help things stay the same or to make the world a better place?

That’s what you always have to ask yourself with every investment – time, money, energy, effort, experience, relationships.

What is the driving force behind why I am giving this my attention?

Today’s journaling prompt: what kind of investments would help you live out your purpose today if you had one? Do you need $50,000,000 to get started? $20,000,000? $10? If you don’t know what your life purpose is yet, what do you need in order to start your research? What kind of life experience do you need in order to figure out what the world can benefit from if you share it?

Every purpose that every human being has on this earth is something that makes the world better for EVERYONE. It’s a big mission that we undertake. Some of us want to make sure nobody ever goes hungry again. Some of us want to make sure that everyone can AFFORD their own home, not just that they have to have it handed to them by a governmental entity that can take it away at any time if they feel like it. Some of us…well what problem do YOU want to solve for EVERYBODY? And how can you do it in a way that doesn’t put them in a more vulnerable state in the long run? What kind of life experience do you need for that? What kind of Teachers can help you get better at solving the problem that what you’re seeking to eliminate from the world?

And one more question: What are you doing to become a person worth investing that much money into?
