A life lived honorably cannt be built in one evening. It cannot be done overnight.
It takes years of honorable decisions to develop that sense and cultivate a feeling of honor.
In addition to time and application of effort and your own will, a life built on honorable decisions requires at least two more things:
- A Guide, or Teachers who teach what standards are honorable in nature for you to aim for. Teachers who impart wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that of course you will fall short again and again, but honor isn’t found in never failing to hit your target. It is found in realigning your bow and arrow and taking aim again and again.
- A willingness to depart from public opinion in order to find, follow, and trust your own inner compass.
Even when the crowds have all gone home from boredom, or they just get tired of watching you fail. Even when there’s no one around to cheer you on as you finally start making bulls eyes repeatedly, and then when the sun rises and people start to come round again you fail consistently.
None of that really matters. Why not?
Because one person was present for every single shot, and that one person saw every time you didn’t give up. Everytime you missed, every time you hit your target, everytime you ALMOST got it but didn’t and then you reloaded your quiver and went again. Repeatedly. Maybe even in rhythm. Because to you the glory was never in hitting the target every single time, especially in the beginning as proof that you were on the right journey. The glory is in becoming the person who can do that consistently, repeatedly, eventually.
There is one more thing to keep in mind in regards to honor. This one might be the most important one, because it is the one that gets you started afoot on your journey to Honorable living.
If you are seeking a way to live a more honorable life tomorrow, then today you are not living as honorably as you could be. That is okay to admit. In fact, it is necessary to accept this reality if you are ever to take the first step towards redemption.
Remember that honor is something you know you are living by how you feel morese than by what anyone else can tell you.
Do you feel that you are living an honorable life today? The most honorable life you could be living?
Answer honestly, gut reaction, don’t second guess or try to “think” about the response. “Yes” or “No”?
It’s not your fault if the answer is no, in the beginning. In 2026, none of us have been given a true chance yet to live the most honorable lives imaginable. The road to honor has been hidden from view for some time, and humans have really not cared to look for one from what I have observed. So if you found this page today, lucky you! You’re on your way to possibly doing something that most people would rather not reap the rewards of.
You know what the honorable and noble things are to do in all situations. The answers are always inside of you, somewhere. All you an do is be willing to listen and test your ability to trust your conscience on every decision, no matter how seemingly large or small.
One small note before we close up this topic for the day:
Warriors who take the path and carve their own way in order to trust themselves to the highest order and degree have to accept that criticism from the outside world comes with the territory. Being outcast, feeling “misunderstood” or “understood and rejected simultaneously”, publicly shamed and humiliated, these are usually signs that you’re heading the right way, even if they don’t seem so when they’re happening.
But the immature Warrior will often go out looking for fights as “proof” that he or she is living in alignment with honor and integrity. Much like a young, naive soldier who joins an army in hopes of being sent into battle. Once he encounters that which he has been seeking, his soul leaves his body and he has to face the harsh realities of what he has been asking God to grant him. If you find yourself embracing the idea that rejection means you’re on the right path just a little too enthusiastically, it’s okay. It’s all part of the process, but you have to be willing to humble yourself eventually. Otherwise, you’ll really risk doing a lot of damage to the integrity and honor that you say you are seeking to build.
You’ve got this. It doesn’t always feel good for the lion cub to get knocked down by their father or mother, but better than being a hyena’s lunch because you got cocky and decided to pick a fight with someone you weren’t yet ready to defeat.
