Day 80

Day 80/92. We’re almost 2/3 of the way done this section!

I am curious to see what we will be writing about after the Super Hero phase is complete…

For today, what do you think about imagining that your Super Hero self has a pet?

A Super Hero sidekick, but not a human one. What kind of animal would you choose if you could pick ANY ANIMAL you wanted?

Even imaginary ones! Like Dragons, or the Loch Ness Monster (Nessie’s the coolest!).

When I was a kid, I imagined that I had two faeries whose names were Bella and Donna. I used to pretend I had a brown imaginary horse with a white streak down it’s nose. I used to build houses for my faeries out of cardboard boxes. I would also use them for paper dolls I made myself.

Every Super Hero needs some kind of pet. Even if it’s a Pokemon or Digimon, or something like that. What kind of creature would you want to bring on your grand adventures with you? What kind of abilities would he or she have to help you with? What would he or she like to do?

I think I would like a shape-shifting goat. Maybe that’s cheating, but there is no cheating when you’re doing things on your own. Don’t you remember from before, when I started writing these journaling prompts? You’re ALONE, in your bedroom most likely, writing whatever you want! Even if I give you guidelines, you’re allowed to do WhATeVeR yOU WanT! Please do!

That is what I love about social media, and using my website to share these things. I don’t have to monitor your progress. I am not responsible for looking over your shoulder and make sure you are following the rules. That’s all on you! THERE ARE NO RULES! You can read these journaling prompts every day for a year just because you are curious and never use a single one of them. You can start anywhere, you can use the prompts out of order depending on what calls to you each day. You can anything, except…

I guess there is one rule. Don’t steal my work and claim it as something you created. That is why I don’t look at everybody’s stuff on social media. I don’t want to be influenced by other people and end up losing my creative flow to the point where I look like I am copying them instead of standing on my own two feet.

That’s just a personal preference of mine. I like doing everything myself if I can.

So back to my Super Hero pet, as an example. I would want a shape-shifting goat. Why? Well one…it is cheating because a shape-shifting goat can turn into anything it wants to turn into.

And since this is imaginary, I am not going to frustrate myself by saying the goat just shape shifts completely out of left field. Goats are intelligent creatures. And fascinating. Have you ever seen how they stand on the side of a mountain with no ledges? It’s amazing.

So the goat knows what it’s doing, and I think my goat sidekick would be a male. With a really strong back kick. And it’s favorite form to shift into? A wasp.

My shape-shifting goat can also change size. So even though he chooses to remain a goat, he can suddenly become teeny, teeny, tiny or he can grow larger than the mountain he was just standing on. He can change size in any form at any time.

But what is the goat’s weakness? You know…every super hero has one. I think we will have to think about our weaknesses again another day. But for now, what weakness does your non-human sidekick have?

My goat, who doesn’t have a name yet, but by the end of this post he will, his weakness is anytime he sees a tin can he loses focus. So if someone is drinking a soda while we are fighting crime, and he catches a glimpse of his favorite snack, he will stop what he’s doing, turn back into himself, and help himself to a break time. That person’s can is a goner when Harry the Goat fixes his sight upon it. He’ll chomp it right out of that person’s hand (without hurting them of course, he’s still a Super Hero after all. He knows how to act with precision AND accuracy. Harry trains for things like this.)

That skill to steal soda cans actually works against fighting crime. But I will keep that my little secret. Maybe I will reveal it sometime.

So who is your sidekick going to be? What are his or her quirks? Abilities? Weaknesses? Enjoyments? Treats?
