Ok, let’s recap!

We have two super hero personas to work with, and one leveling up. Do you want to write a scenario for the one we didn’t level up yet? You can do that today, if you want.

In a few days, we will work on a third and final iteration of your Super Hero and “Every Day” selves. And we will continue to work with all three sets of disguises for the remainder of these 31 days. So start thinking what your 3rd version does for a living, what kind of backdrop you will use and props for the daytime version, as well as how that ties into what he or she (your same gender) looks like/uses as the costumed self.

If limiting your gender to the one you were born as in your imagination feels restrictive or wrong, I want you to know that it’s okay to acknowledge that. I can’t stop you from doing whatever you want to in your own imagination or your writings. I can only share that you are better off exploring within the confines of this structure. If you feel you cannot, why would you spend another second wondering if I give you permission to play?

Back to what I was saying about today’s journaling prompt.

With Super Hero version #1 and #2, have you named them yet? Does your Super Hero self have an identity that people call you when they catch you in disguise? Have you been imagining this whole time that the plain clothes version is you entirely? Or does he or she have a different identity also? How are these versions different from you as you know yourself today?

Is there anything else you want to know about the “everyday” versions? Write them down. How do they act to distinguish themselves from the Super Hero versions? How do they hide their powers and advantages in life? What are the contrasts, what are the similarities between the two alter egos (plain clothes and costumed, and also between the two plain-clothes versions). Do you know what I mean by the plain-clothes versions?

The ones that aren’t wearing masks, or hiding their identities. Like Clark Kent to Superman, Bruce Wayne to Batman, Peter Parker to Spiderman, etc. etc.

What do your plain-clothes selves (both of them, so far) do for work? How do they incorporate their super powers into their daily lives without anyone realizing?

The Cheerleader from Heroes had a hard time with this, since it’s kind of hard to hide the fact that you can’t get hurt or die. What happens to you? How might people discover your secret identities? What will happen when they do?

We can work on the “What if” scenario tomorrow. There you go. There’s your prompt for tomorrow too.

Be thinking about the third version. That will be the catch-all for everything coming to mind that doesn’t work in alignment with the versions you’ve already created. So…you have some time to keep imagining.
