Day 59

We are almost to the end of this second 30 day segment! Woohoo!

Before we wrap things up here, I want us to do another day of Hero journaling.

Yesterday we focused on the Clark Kents of your life. The Supermen and Superwomen who fight in the Light.

What did I mean by that? You will have to go back to Day 58 and double check. Today, I want to focus on Batman.

Who are the heroes in your life who fight completely in the dark?

You know, Clark Kent was just one broken pair of glasses away from being discovered by anyone who was truly paying attention. One hot day, sweating through his button-down shirt, and wouldn’t people start to notice a great resemblance to him and the man in the skintight uniform?

Batman is different. Batman wears a mask. His suit is not meant to make him look more human. It is meant to completely hide his identity. Even Batman’s voice is different from Bruce Wayne’s.

Batman is also different from Clark Kent in one major way. Clark Kent’s abilities are natural to him. Even if they are not natural to the citizens of Earth, Superman’s ability to fly and see through objects comes from his galactic DNA.

However, Batman uses tools. He has the Batmobile to get around. Who do you know in your life uses their tools to get sh*t done in an awesome way?

Who do you know goes completely undercover to make the world a better place? Who would prefer to remain anonymous instead of having his or her name put on display, even if he or she moved literal mountains just because they were in the way?

And who do you know who does not put up with an ounce of BS? Batman has an attitude Clark Kent can only dream of having. Batman is a wealthy Business Owner, CEO, and Heir to a Fortune. Clark Kent? Journalist. Alien. Not super concerned with human ideas of success, I would say. Maybe he is. I can’t say I ever cared that much for Superman to know the details. I’m just trying to make this analogy work.

Who do you know has used or would use wealth for good?

Tomorrow we will write about the value of villains (like the Joker) as heroes, and characters like X-men who can play for both teams. That will be the last day of journaling about this topic. Then, we will get ready to graduate to month 3!

See you tomorrow!
