Welcome to Day 58! How have the last 27 days been for you?
I hope they have been wonderful. Enjoyable, to say the least. At least in regards to the journaling prompts π
We have done a lot so far these last (almost) 60 days!
I think we are ready to wrap up this section. So for the next 3-4 days, I want us to focus on heroes!
Who do you admire most?
What do you admire about them?
If you find it hard to write your response, you can always use photographs.
I want you to get clear on your heroes. If you could be like anybody in the world, who would you want to be like? Your heroes can be celebrities, fictional characters, and people that you know in real life, either personally or from afar.
Let’s narrow it down a bit more, just for today.
First, if any heroes have already come to mind (like for me, Xena and Lara Croft come up first) write them down. Add anyone to your list (like Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire as Spiderman) that you think of right off the bat.
Find pictures that represent your heroes in the way that you admire them the most. For example, I am not going to use a photo of Melissa Joan Hart in “Drive Me Crazy”, when it’s her “Sabrina” character I admire most.
If you are using real people, which you should if any come to mind, find photos of them in their most heroic states. Heroism is always subjective.
One of my greatest heroes is one of my Great Grandmothers. She is my hero because of her generosity and compassion. She has a reputation in my family as being the kind of woman who would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it more than her. Same with her husband, if I recall my family history correctly.
I don’t have any photos of them, but I can list the qualities that I admire in them both. I can find images of others embodying those behaviors and use them in my list.
That is what I want you to do too.
For today, focus on heroes you admire because of their kindness. Their compassion. Their Light. All of the heroes that come to mind when you think of “Superman”. We will reserve “Batman” and “Joker”-like heroes for the next few days.
Superman qualities to take into consideration:
- Willing to fight evil no matter what
- Stands and fights in the daylight (whatever that means to you)
- Kind, compassionate, calm, peaceful
- Composed, classy, congenial
- Strong, in ways that are universally recognized as strength (and what strength means to you)
- Has human-like weaknesses
Tomorrow we will look at other heroes that come to mind.
